Bramley Footbridge

As a resident of Bramley and your M.P., I have had countless local people tell me that urgent action must be taken regarding the lack of continual safe pedestrian access between platforms and across the level crossing at Bramley.

We must prevent a tragic accident or, worse, a fatality from occurring. Bramley has grown, meaning that improvements are needed to benefit many more residents than before.

I am taking all possible steps to convince Hampshire County Council, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Bramley Parish Council to secure and allocate funding for a pedestrian footbridge beside the level crossing at Bramley; to provide any necessary support and evidence to Network Rail to facilitate the scheme to go ahead; and, indeed, to get National Rail to set aside track time for access to the railway to enable the construction of a footbridge.

But I need your help. I would encourage you – and your friends and neighbours – to sign my petition below.

Thank you for your support on this important issue.

Bramley Footbridge

  • Current Your details

To the Leaders, Cabinets and Members of the Hampshire County Council, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Bramley Parish Council; and the Board of National Rail.

The Humble petition of the residents of North East Hampshire.

Declares that the pedestrian access between platforms and across the level crossing in the village of Bramley is unsafe and requires a continual safe passage; further, the residents of Bramley have witnessed tragic accidents and fatalities over the years which must be prevented from future reoccurrence; further, the new housing developments being built in the village increase the urgency of such a safe passage.

The petitioners urge Hampshire County Council, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Bramley Parish Council and National Rail to take all possible steps to secure and allocate funding for a pedestrian footbridge beside the level crossing at Bramley; to provide any available funding towards wider improvements in Bramley; to provide any necessary support and evidence to Network Rail to facilitate the scheme to go ahead; and to urge Network Rail to set aside track time for access to the railway to enable the construction of said footbridge.

And the petitioners remain, etc.
