I asked a question of the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Phillip Hammond MP after the Autumn Statement in Parliament today.
The further increases to the personal allowance - up to £12,500 - taking millions of people out of income tax altogether, are most welcome. Given the average earnings in North East Hampshire are higher than elsewhere in the country, I am particularly pleased that many families will be taken out of the higher rate of tax too, given that it was never intended for them.
