Protecting the poorest, weakest, and most vulnerable is central to my work. Given the daily cost of living today, this government is providing a second ‘Cost of Living Payment’ to 5,000 households in North East Hampshire alone.
These payments, totaling £900 through 2023-24, are designed to help those hit hardest by global inflation.
But there's even more! ‘Winter Fuel Payments’ are being boosted by £300 and an extra £300 ‘Pensioner Cost of Living Payment’ is being made available this year.
Additionally, nearly three million low-income households can get a £150 rebate on winter electricity bills through the Warm Home Discount and, starting from today, eligible households will receive an extra £25 per week through the ‘Cold Weather Payment’ when temperatures drop below zero degrees for over seven days.
If you or someone you care about is currently receiving means-tested benefits, such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit, or tax credits, you or they may very well qualify for these valuable payments. Do share this information with anyone who may benefit.
