Ranil Jayawardena—Member of Parliament for North East Hampshire—has condemned the vandals responsible for the recent arson attacks on Yateley United Football Club. The community based football club has been subject to multiple attacks over recent weeks, including most recently an arson attack which left a donated minibus completely burned out.
Ranil Jayawardena MP said:
“I wholly condemn the actions of the lowlifes responsible for the recent arson attacks on Yateley United Football Club. For anyone to think that such actions are appropriate or clever is beyond me. Frankly I'm surprised that anyone would be sad enough to spend their time doing this."
Ranil Jayawardena continued:
"Make no mistake, the whole community is united in our support for this great local club - this is an attack on all of us and we will not be discouraged or intimidated."
"I know that the Police and football club are working together in response to these attacks and I am sure they will be successful in catching these hooligans. I urge anyone with any information to contact Hampshire Constabulary immediately."
