Many of you will know that my constituency office is in Odiham, and I am fully aware of the ongoing issue with a mystery sewage smell that has been affecting residents in the Dunleys Hill area. I know this problem has prevented many of you from enjoying your gardens and outdoor spaces.
Councillor Chris Dorn has been proactive in raising this matter with Thames Water, and I’ve been pushing them too, so we wanted to share the latest update with you.
Thames Water is now focused on a field adjacent to the area as a possible cause of the smell, where they took over responsibility only around ten years ago and don’t have full sight of the infrastructure underground. They have obtained the necessary permissions from Hampshire County Council to start to find the cause with more investigations to happen on 20th November.
I understand the frustration this situation has caused, and you can be sure that both Chris and I will keep pushing until this is resolved. A healthy environment and healthy families are top priorities for me.
If you haven’t been in touch with me, but have experienced this in your own home, please drop me an email to: [email protected] so that I can make sure Thames Water doesn’t miss anything.
