It was great to meet a dedicated physio to learn more about her crucial role in our NHS, at Whitewater Health in Hook.
She sees around 3,500 patients each year and her team's incredible work includes self-managing 90% of her patients, with an impressive 95% acceptance rate. This not only eases the workload for our hardworking GPs, but helps reduce waiting times for those who have complex problems that can only be dealt with by a GP. I know how vital it is that patients get the care they need, when they want, where they want, and it is great that the physio team are helping achieve that.
The focus is on conducting face-to-face consultations, aiming to assess and address early soft tissue joint and nerve problems. By getting people started on care plans promptly is important and patients are seen within a week.
I’ve witnessed first hand the positive impact the physio team are making on our local healthcare services. Their dedication to improving patient care is a model that can lead the way in rejuvenating the healthcare system, as we rebuild after Covid.
