I was delighted to welcome the Defence Minister, James Cartlidge, to RAF Odiham yesterday – which gave us both the opportunity to inspect the condition of housing there.
Making sure that our brave servicemen and women – and their families – have clean and safe homes is of the utmost importance. They dedicate themselves to serving and protecting our country, and it's only fair that they have accommodation that matches their commitment. Having seen some of the homes deteriorate over the years – some of my school friends lived here when we were at Robert May's School together – it was good to see the progress now being made to improve it.
We visited and discussed the future for both Service Families Accommodation and Single Living Accommodation, following many interventions in Parliament from me on behalf of constituents who have written in! We must always strive for better. I am looking forward to updates from the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) on future improvements to RAF Odiham’s accommodation.
If you are part of a service family and have issues that are still not resolved, please contact me by email to: [email protected] so that I can raise your case, as I have for others.
