Ranil Jayawardena visited the Department for Transport on the 9th of February 2016 to deliver two submissions to the South Western Rail Franchise consultation, calling for quicker, longer, better trains.
As Chairman of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight All Party Group, Ranil has worked with colleagues from across Hampshire to fight for better services in our area. This consultation will eventually decide who runs South West Trains in the future.
The All-Party Parliamentary Group for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight delivered a joint submission on improvements that would help the whole of the county. Ranil Jayawardena also handed in a submission referring to North East Hampshire specifically.
Ranil said:
“With rail patronage higher than ever, I will continue to work with fellow Conservatives in HM Government to improve our infrastructure, which is critical to economic growth for our constituency, our county and our country.”
