As it happens, I've met pupils and staff from Sherfield School twice in the last month - and it's been a real pleasure on both occasions.
On Fridays, I tend to be in North East Hampshire and I had the privilege of opening 'Archers Lodge' recently, which is the school's new boarding house. In doing so, it was great to meet Jay Varkey of GEMS Education, who told me more about their plans for the school, which is based on the edge of Sherfield on Loddon.
Of course, I spend most of the week at the Palace of Westminster, where the UK Parliament meets. I am always delighted to make time to meet school group, so I met both groups from Sherfield School to tell them more about the work of the House of Commons and answer their questions.
We have some really great schools in our corner of North East Hampshire - both state and independent - so I am keen to keep working with schools, Hampshire County Council and the Department for Education to help make them all greater still.
