Policing is a key issue in our area, so recently I met Hampshire Constabulary at Hart District Council offices in Fleet and went out 'on the beat' in Upton Grey.
While we live in a part of the country where crime is generally low, unfortunately there are still isolated incidences of crime and anti-social behaviour that take place in our area.
At my meeting in Fleet, I met our new Chief Inspector, Deborah Brooks who is the District Commander for Hart and Rushmoor. I was pleased to hear from her that increased anti-social behaviour patrols will be taking place and that our local constabulary will be monitoring the nightlife closely to ensure that people feel safe and secure in our area.
While out 'on the beat' with PC Andy Reid, in some the most rural parts of our constituency, I was again shown how important the work is that Hampshire Constabulary do on the ground. It was insightful to see the proactive approach taken here in North East Hampshire to prevent crime and disorder, including rural crime against people, businesses or property.
