It was great to formally open Fleet’s ‘BSL Festival’ this morning! Stalls will be at Hart Shopping Centre until 5pm, so do head on down if you have some time this afternoon.
Did you know there are 90,000 people using British Sign Language as their primary method of communication across Britain and a wider total of 150,000 British signers. I am really glad that this government has taken steps to help.
The British Sign Language Act, brought into law in April 2022, is an important step forward. It recognises BSL as language in its own right.
