Hartley Wintney Tip Closure

The proposed closure of the Hartley Wintney Household Waste Recycling Centre deeply concerns me.

If it is closed, residents in Hart will lose their only local tip, pushing them to drive further to either Farnborough or Basingstoke to get rid of any waste, which is  inconvenient, but risks more fly tipping and the like. That’s why I want to take this up with Hampshire County Council – voicing your concerns and urging them to keep it open.

Your opinions matter! If you are against the closure, I urge you, your friends, and family to sign this petition. Share it with people you know. Together, we can make our voice heard and demonstrate the impact its closure would have in Hart.

Hartley Wintney Tip Closure Petition

To the members of Hampshire County Council

The petition of the residents of Hartley Wintney and others across North East Hampshire.

Declares that the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) in Hartley Wintney provides an important service to residents across North East Hampshire; and that any cost savings made by the closure of this site would be more than offset by both the cost of responding to fly tipping in the local area and increased staffing at other sites due to increased usage; and that the consultation proposal to close this site is strongly opposed.

The petitioners therefore request that Hampshire County Council recognises it has a duty to provide for this sort of waste disposal in each of Hampshire’s Districts; and that it maintains an HWRC in Hartley Wintney.

And the petitioners remain, etc
