Ranil Jayawardena visited the British Heart Foundation in Fleet today. The BHF mission is to win the fight against cardiovascular disease, and to create a world in which people do not die prematurely or suffer from cardiovascular disease.
Ranil said: ‘I really enjoyed visiting the British Heart Foundation in Fleet. They sell a great range of items, and by shopping there it’s helping to continue BHF’s work.
'I chatted to volunteers and staff about the challenges charity shops face, but also how they help to bring the community together. The store has been in Fleet for over ten years, and it seems to be going from strength to strength! After visiting the shop, I am sure this is down to the dedication and hard work of those who work and volunteer there.
'I was also really impressed by the schemes they have in place in North East Hampshire to not only spread awareness of heart disease, but to teach people how to perform CPR, which has the potential to make a huge difference.'
