As you may be aware, Hampshire County Council (HCC) are currently consulting on whether the Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) – the tip to you and me – in Hartley Wintney should close.
Your local County Councillor (Tim Davies), your District Councillors (Dr. Anne Crampton, Tim Southern, and Spencer Farmer), and I all share local concerns that any savings that might be made by the closure of this site – which would leave Hart District without any HWRC – would be more than offset by the cost of responding to fly tipping that might ensue and the increased staffing etc. required at neighbouring sites.
HCC are currently consulting on this and other proposals for future services. You can find out more and contribute to their consultation at: bit.ly/HCCConsulation
But – most pressing for us locally – I would like to be sure that your view on the Hartley Wintney HWRC is properly represented, so please do take 60 seconds to complete my petition if you agree with me that HCC need to maintain an HWRC in Hartley Wintney.
You can complete it online at: ranil.uk/hwtip – and please share this post with your friends and neighbours too, so that they can sign the petition as well.
Please be assured that I understand local concerns and the importance of having easy access to an HWRC. Together, we can make sure your views are heard by HCC.
