ICYMI: It was the State Opening of Parliament yesterday, and it was a momentous occasion. It marked the first King's address for over 70 years, in which he outlined the government's vision for the year ahead.
In his speech, the King shared the roadmap for the government's plans and priorities:
Growing the economy with a focus on energy security, helping to lower your bills in the years ahead.
Safeguarding our society by protecting the health of young people and helping provide greater certainty in the rental market for both landlords and tenants
Ensuring public safety through increased police powers, appropriate punishments for criminals, and necessary counterterrorism measures
Promoting the British national interest with support for the Armed Forces, aid for Ukraine and work to address climate change.
Rest assured, in delivering on these priorities and working on new policy ideas, my primary focus remains on enhancing the lives of local people here in North East Hampshire, and fostering a stronger, more resilient community.
